Hair Removal for Men FAQs

It is important to follow all directions, warnings and precautions detailed in the instruction leaflet before use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in skin irritation, burns or other injury.

Yes! Re-use a Nad's for Men Bdy Wax Strip by simply folding the strip in half so that the wax is on the inside. Massage the strip with your fingers, slowly separate the strip and continue waxing. Repeat this process until the strip is no longer effective.

No. The Nad’s SafeTip™ applicator is designed for single-use only. The SafeTip™ end of the applicator is to be used once inside the nose to remove nose hair and the Spatula end of the applicator is to be used once on the surface of the nose to remove hair growing on the surface of the nose.

No. The Nad’s for Men Hair Removal Cream has been designed for the legs, arms, chest and back. It is not suitable for use on the face, scalp, eyes, eyebrows, nose, ears, nipples, perineal or genital areas.

Nose hair is a natural and necessary part of the body, however it can overgrow its area. Nad’s SafeTip™ applicator is designed to remove the hair around the edge of the nostril, only targeting the hairs that are sticking out or easily noticed. There is still plenty of hair remaining within the nose and nasal cavity to perform the required physiological functions.

If no hair comes off, it may be because your hair is fair and unfortunately due to lack of pigmentation fair hair can sometimes not be removed. The skin must be completely clean and dry before applying the cream. It must be liberally applied, and can be massaged with the fingertips to ensure that all sides of the hair is completely covered. Always make sure that the hands are washed immediately after applying the cream.

As the hair is only being removed above the skins surface, it will grow back within 3-5 days after use. If you would like a hair removal option that can be completed less frequently, you could try waxing. As the hair is pulled from the root, it will not grow back for around 4-6 weeks.

Each Nad’s Nose Wax comes with enough wax and applicators to perform two complete treatments.

A pimply rash is quote common and is the skin's reaction to having hair pulled from the root.

If the skin has been removed then it is not being held taut and also the strip is being applied over the same spot more than once. Also, if the skin is excessively dry; this could make the skin susceptible to tearing if waxed.

As depilatory creams have to be very alkaline to dissolve the hair, they can sometimes cause irritation to sensitive skins which is why we always recommend a patch test to ensure your skin is suitable for treatment with a depilatory cream.

Remember it's important to patch test the area you wish to treat as some areas are more sensitive than others. Check the precautions on pack to ensure the area you wish to treat is suitable for treatment with a depilatory cream.

There are a number of reasons why bruising, swelling and/or irritation may occur so it's important to ALWAYS read the precautions and perform a patch test before treatment to ensure you're skin is suitable.

Here are some of the things to look out for. Refer to the precautions for more information.

  • Are you a diabetic/take oral retinoids(antibiotics)/is your skin very inelastic or dry? If so, you should not be using this product. For a detailed explanation of suitable skins types, you should refer to our instruction leaflet.
  • Did you remember to keep the skin taut as you pulled the strip off? This is essential to prevent bruising/swelling/irritation.
  • Did you pull the strip up rather than close to the skin? This can cause bruising/swelling/irritation.
  • Did you go over the same area more than twice on your face? Do not re-wax the area if your skin is irritated.
  • Did you use the product just before or during your period? Your skin is really sensitive during this time and I wouldn’t recommend waxing until after your period. You will find that it will be a far less painful experience then.
  • Was the hair very long? We advise to trim the hair to 5mm, as longer hair will be more painful to remove and you might experience bruising/swelling/irritation.

NOTE: It's quite normal to experience a little redness or spots after waxing, especially if you're new to it. Always perform a patch test in the area to be treated and wait at least 24 hours to ensure any redness subsides before proceeding with waxing.

The quicker you pull the SafeTip™ applicator out of the nose, the more effective and less painful the hair removal result actually is. You’ll feel a slight pull and short after-tingle that only lasts a few seconds.

Nad’s Nose Wax is specially formulated to harden and stick to the Nad’s SafeTip™ applicator as well as to the hair around the edge of the nostril. The hardened wax will be removed from the nose with the applicator when it is pulled out. It is important to follow the correct wax setting times detailed in the instruction leaflet to ensure the wax has set properly to prevent any residue from remaining in the nostril.

The product comes with the unique Nad’s SafeTip™ applicator that has been specifically designed to allow insertion, but reduce the risk of over insertion and consequent disruption of sensitive membranes that line the nasal cavity.

No. Like shaving, the hair is only removed above the skins surface. It will grow back within around 3-5 days. If you would like a hair removal option that can be completed less frequently, you could try waxing. As the hair is pulled from the root, it will not grow back for around 4-6 weeks.

For a permanent hair removal option, we recommend looking into Laser Hair Removal.

Hair may not come out if:

  • it is not at least 3-5mm long (or 1.5mm in the case of Exfoliating Wax Strips)
  • the area is not clean and free from makeup and moisturisers
  • the area has not been allowed to dry after using Cleansing Wipes, or after a shower or bathing (wait at least 1 hour to allow the moisture level in the skin to return to normal)
  • the strip is not removed in the opposite direction of hair growth, or is removed in an upward direction rather than close to and parallel with the skin
  • the skin was not held taut when the strip was removed.

Cilia are microscopic hairs on the surface of the respiratory tract that draw up mucus which traps any smaller foreign particles that the nose hairs may have missed. Cilia help clean the air before it goes to the lungs by moving these particles toward the front of the nose or down through the throat to remove them from your airway.

Nad’s Nose Wax is a specially formulated hard wax that effectively removes visible nose hair from the nostril area. The unique formula can also be used to remove hair from the surface of the nose.

The women’s Ingrow formula contains Glycolic Acid to gently remove dead skin so trapped hair (ingrown hair) can grow through the skin's surface.

The men’s Ingrow formula contains Bisabolol and Panthenol (Vitamin B5) to soothe and minimise irritation and inflammation associated with razor burn.

The main function of nose hair is to keep foreign or unwanted particles from entering the lungs through the nasal cavity. Nose hair also assists in adding moisture and warmth to the air that is inhaled.

Ingrow should be used in the days after hair removal treatment to minimise irritations and bumps. Always wait at least 24 hours after hair removal before applying Ingrow.

As depilatory creams have to be very alkaline to dissolve the hair, they can sometimes cause irritation to sensitive skins which is why we always recommend a patch test to ensure your skin is suitable for treatment with a depilatory cream.

Remember it's important to patch test in the area you wish to treat as some areas are more sensitive than others. Check the precautions on pack to ensure the area you wish to treat is suitable for treatment with a depilatory cream.

To perform a a patch test, follow the directions on pack and always read the precautions before you commence.

Some people with diabetes have poor blood circulation and so may be more prone to bruising and skin irritations.

No. We do not believe that hair removal techniques such as hair removal creams or waxing can cause the hair to grow back thicker or darker. However, cutting the hair bluntly (by shaving etc.) can make the hair appear and feel thicker/darker due to the hairs tip being blunt.

Hair Removal Creams dissolve the hair above the skins surface, so when the hair grows back the tip will be fine as opposed to blunt. As waxing pulls the hair from the root, a new hair follicle will grow through with a fine tip.
